  1. New Voices For Garmin Nuvi

Are there any additional Voice files (.vpm) available for download? My Nuvi 650 came with only one US English voice, and I'd like to change. Voice, British English Updates & Downloads. Garmin Connect Community for tracking. And choose to run the file on your computer.

How to get Homer Simpson (& Others) Voice on Garmin GPS

After I spent the day working my butt off, people asked me to do a post so whenever someone else needs it they could find it by searching on google (If this type of post is not ok I'll delete it right away mods).

So, if you're here that must mean you'd love to have Homer (or any other available character) himself giving you directions to your daily adventures!

And here's what you need: A Garmin GPS (some older models may not work, I couldn't find much info on this)

A PC

JetMouse 1.5 KeyGen with checksum fix

Voice files ( something something .VPM)

First, to explain how things work: Garmin uses VPM files to provide the commands, they are the actual voices you hear.

Some VPM files are locked (when you needed to purchase them), nowadays Garmin Voices have been discontinued, so I really don't know if it's illegal to share them.

To unlock the files and allow your GPS to play them, you need a UNL file.

A UNL file is simply a notepad file with a number (your key) and you save it as .UNL instead of .txt.

Now, you know how everything works, let's get cooking!

First download all the programs you need and connect your GPS to your PC.

Then, on the file explorer, open your GPS and look for a folder named 'Garmin', inside should have a file named 'Garmin.xml' in that file (which can be viewed on the internet or notepad) you can find your product ID, copy it.

Open jetmouse, place your unit ID on the Unit iD box and scroll down to select map product, click on it and go all the way to custom map, that will open another window with the following boxes:

FID, PID, RGNID and VENID

for Homer's voice, you should use these settings (also check the little box to allow editing on PID) (other voices uses different settings)

FID: 480 PID: 25 RGNID: 0 VENID: 0

Click the second generate code button (the one at the bottom)

That should generate your UNL code.

Open a new file on notepad and copy that code, nothing else.

Save it as a .unl file (check if it's not saved as .unl.txt by clicking to show extensions)(also, save it with the exact name as the VPM file)

Nuvi

Okay, almost over :D

Copy both the UNL and VPM to your garmin device, on the folder 'Voices'.

If everything was done correctly it should show up in the voices tab at settings inside your GPS :)

If it did not show up, most likely it was an issue with your UNL code, do it again, check everything and try again, try other voices, if nothing works, your GPS might not support it.

Adding Vehicles:

Jan 30, 2001 - Theory of Leadership. James MacGregor Burns and the Philosophy of Leadership. Director of Leadership Studies. Burns leadership 1978 pdf files. Transformational leadership is defined as a leadership approach that causes change in. Bass added to the initial concepts of Burns (1978) to help explain how.

This is pretty much straight-forward, just copy the file into your GPS' Vehicles folder :)

Here are some links that should help you:

(the place where I got most of my info) https://www.gpspower.net/pois-voices-speedcams-vehicles/244039-garmin-voice-vehicle-bundles.html

(Google drive folder with JetMouse, homer's voice and car) https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/15ZH-8pTQZBoJCdfchb28bU6uYwxa6AQM?usp=sharing

Onedrive link (Same as Google Drive, kinda like a backup)

(I went to download the Keygen from Google drive and it said the file had a virus, my computer did not detect anything wrong with it, but just to be sure).

Have fun with your new pals on your daily drives :D

Edit:Some fixes and I screwed the title, oh boy.

Edit 2: on the keygen folder in google drive, there's another program, infoUC, use that to verify if the code provided by JetMouse is correct.

Edit 3: Added: Yoda, Wallace & Gromit and Cookie Monster :D

Edit 4: I've updated the link and I'll add a second one from Onedrive

Re: Voices
Garminers,
Just recently I discovered this great voice utility: Voice Utility. It allows you to create and edit your own, personalized non-TTS voice for Garmin. VPM files are in the /Garmin/Voice/ folder (GPS or SD cars).
This is what I do to create my own Garmin voice files:
1. Find on your GPS and copy to your computer a non-TTS voice (VPM file)
2. Backup your old voice file before you make any changes to it. Save it to some safe place.
3- Start VoiceEditor and select a VPM file name
4- Select Split to extract the VPM file content into separate WAV files
5- Use Microsoft's Sound Recorder, Audacity or any other WAV editor to preview/record/edit exported WAV files
6- Select Join to merge the WAV files back into a Garmin VPM formated voice file
7- Copy your new non-TTS VPM voice file to your GPS (backup your old voice file first)
Nuvi 2xx users can create WAV voice files with tts software
This is an excellent way to create your own voice alerts. Choose your voice (American/English; Male/Female), type what you want, and click download. A WAV file is created with your alert.
It's fun to have my kid's voice telling me: 'Turn left Mum.. Now! NOW! NOW!!!'
