Posted : admin On 5/17/2019Three Dog Night é uma banda de rock Norte Americana. Formada em 1967 pelos vocalistas Danny Hutton, Cory Wells e Chuck Negron. Acompanhados de Jimmy Greenspoon (Teclados), Joe Schermie (Baixo), Mike Allsup (Guitarra) e Floyd Sneed (Bateria). A banda integrou o Top 40 hits da Billboard na posição de número 21 (com três hits na primeira posição) entre 1969 e 1975. Inicialmente uma banda cover o que ajudou na apresentação de diversos compositores às audiências do mainstream, como Paul Williams, Hoyt Axton, Laura Nyro, Harry Nilsson, Randy Newman e Leo Sayer.

Em 1973, Three Dog Night entrou com uma ação $6 milhões contra o seu agente de booking anterior, American Talent International (ATI) por continuar anunciando nos meios de comunicação que a banda ainda estava sob seu agenciamento, quando na verdade eles assinaram com a Agência William Morris em outubro de 1972. A reunião da banda contava com todos os membros originais, exceto Joe Schermie, que foi substituído por Mike Seifrit desde 1982, e depois por Richard Grossman, que permaneceu até 1984. Em 1993, a banda tocou no The Family Channel – Spotlight on Counrty, filmado em Myrtle Beach – Carolina do Sul. Kingery retorna a banda como baixista em 1996, após a saída de Campbell.
Em maio de 2002, o álbum Three Dog Night with The London Symphony Orchestra foi lançado. Ele foi gravado em Los Angeles e em Londres, nos estúdio da Abbey Road. O álbum conta com duas canções inéditas: ”Overground” e “Sault Ste. Marie”.

Em Outubro de 2004, Three Dog Night lançou o álbum The 35th Anniversary Hits Collection Featuring The London Symphony Orchestra. O álbum incluiu versões ao vivo de “Eli’s Coming”, “Brickyear Blues”, “Try a Little Tenderness” e “Family of Man”.
Em 2007, a rede de Tv SKY lançou uma campanha publicitária no Reino Unido, que promoveu as aspirações da empresa de ser vista como uma empresa ambientalmente amigável, e usou a canção da banda de 'Joy To The World'.

Em 11 de Março de 2015, Jimmy Greespoon faleceu de câncer, aos 67 anos de idade. Seu lugar aos teclados foi preenchido por Eddie Reasoner, que havia substituído Jimmy anteriormente, em 2014, quando ficou doente pela primeira vez.
Em 21 de Outubro de 2015, Cory Wells faleceu em sua casa, em Dunkirk, New York. Ele faleceu aos 74 anos. A causa de sua morte sepsia, enquanto lutava contra o mieloma múltiplo. Leo Sayer (born Gerard Hugh Sayer, 21 May 1948) is a British born singer-songwriter musician and entertainer whose singing career has spanned four decades. He is now an Australian citizen and resident.
Um comentário oficial incluído no Box Set Celebrate: The Three Dog Night Story; 1964-1975 indica que a namorada do vocalista Danny Huttn, a atriz June Fairchild (mais conhecida como “Ajax Lady” do Filme Up In Smoke - Queimando Tudo, br - dos comediantes Cheech and Chong) sugeriu o nome depois de ler uma revista sobre Indígenas Australianos, onde explicava que nas noites de frio eles costumavam dormir em buracos no chão, abraçados a “Dingos” (são cães ferozes da Austrália).
