Pros: Good signal strength
Cons: Lasted only 1 year 2 months. Radio is dead. Very disappointed, when you pay over $90 for a router you expect it to last longer.
Pros: This thing blew me away. I thought it was going to be one of those cheap so-so plastic cans you throw up on the side of the building.
This has lots of features, power and a wide angle for seeing other access points to bridge off of and relay. I would recommend this for light duty commercial application between building.
Great for relay of internet to a place where you can't get any.
Has POE to end-point so that's a plus !
Not bad size at all.
Cons: No really, not metal but than again it holds up well though
Pros: - Hell of a range, Even without the optional external antenna, I was getting maximum signal at .5 miles from it.
-POE is great and It even has its own injector.
-Lots of configuration options.
-Easy to mount on pipes, conduits or anything else round.
Cons: -Doesn't seem to support DDWRT or other 3rd party firmwares.
-POE injector is a little strange to mount
Other Thoughts: I got this to service a pavilion in a my cities public gardens. It easily covers the entire thing and then some.
Pros: Units were very easy to set up. I needed them for a quarter mile wireless shot. Units did the job and plus some highly recommended. I love the fact that these units supported WPA2 with AES
Cons: I have no cons.
Other Thoughts: I own a IT business and I plan on using units like this for other customers that need to bounce a wireless single.
Comments: WDS supplies 108 Mbps, about as fast as using a wire!
Pros: These things are great, and for the price they are even better. Simple to configure, great signal strength, and power over Ethernet simplifies cabling.
Cons: Setup is easy, but the instructions included with the product are not very good. Fortunately, there are a couple of good, short instruction videos online.
Other Thoughts: I needed to connect two houses that are about 250 yds apart, and are not line of sight -- there is a 100 ft. wide clump of trees next to the second house. I thought I would need to buy 4 of these things, use our barn as a connection point, and come in to House 2 from a different side.
We tested House 1 to Barn first, about 200 yards line of sight, with House 1 configured as Access Point, Barn as Client Bridge. The signal strength was so high at the barn that we decided to try pointing the Access Point at House 2 and moving the Client Bridge there. Both units are mounted near the top of TV antenna towers, but House 2's unit is still below the tops of the nearby trees. The signal strength is great at House 2, and the connection has been stable and reliable for 2 weeks so far.
As a bonus, the signal from the Access Point is better than my existing router inside House 1, and also gives me a great signal over a large area outside the house.
Pros: I bought 2 of these before this one being my 3. Configured 1 to be an access point then the other 2 (1 in production) as a client bridge. They have worked flawlessly. Through wind/rain/hail/snow there is no packet loss. The current setup has a wireless shot about 1/4mi down to another house, streaming netflix or playing xbox games with no problem, it's as if you 'wired' into the modem.
Cons: Some of the terms in the configuration are a little different than what I would call it. But a quick google turns that around. Configuration page looks a little outdated but nothing that takes away from the performance.
