When my Branson died, I called them about getting it fixed. They said they would not repair it. The wire had come off the transducer cemented on the bottom of the tank. So I scrapped it and bought an L&R, which has never given me any trouble. Larry

I have worked on ultrasonic units in the past, and would add one warning: Many of the units are powered directly from the AC line, so one must have an isolation transformer to do much servicing.
Also, the drive signal across the transducer can easily be 700 Vpp at 25 KHz, which well exceeds the voltage range of many scope probes. - Banned

Lot could have happened since we were going through several every year, 1974-1984, commercial Jewelry manufacturing operation, but they sure as Hell were 'repair prone' at that time.Originally Posted by PeteMrather than put too much into an apparently repair-prone Branson.
L&R's on-offer of the day were better, but they did fail as well, so we just figured that was 'the way' of Ultrasonic goods in general.
Given how so much OTHER technology has advanced, I'm actually surprised to hear the whole tribe isn't a great deal better by this time.
Or perhaps some other maker IS?

My (very old) Branson has lost the most effective portion of its oomph. Is there a prevailing brand that is recommended for long-life and high performance?Originally Posted by Monarchist

Problem back in the day was the transducer longevity as much as the drive electronics.Originally Posted by David_MMy (very old) Branson has lost the most effective portion of its oomph. Is there a prevailing brand that is recommended for long-life and high performance?

Barium Titanate, Lead Zirconate Titanite or some such chemistry.
Wudda thought that by now, more than a few better byproducts of deep-sea drilling, underseas communications, and even submarine/anti warfare might have leaked out 'peace dividend' wise into civil use.
Patience is in order. There HAVE to be folks in the PM community who have seriously larger-scale experience that is broader and more up-to-date than old war-stories on onesies..

I bought a new Branson back around 1971. After a few years, the wire came off the transducer stuck to the bottom of the tank. Branson said I should buy a new cleaner because they did not repair them. So I bought a new L&R, which is still working after around 40 years. Maybe the new L&R models are even better.Originally Posted by David_MMy (very old) Branson has lost the most effective portion of its oomph. Try these people: http://aaultrasoniccleaners.com/rebuilt.htmOriginally Posted by MitsTechDo you know if they will service any ultrasonic cleaner? I have an older, almost NOS Sonicor that died.
'We have a huge inventory of parts for all ultrasonic cleaners, from vintage vacuum tube models to current.'
I took the advise of those Texas repair people and bought a Crest, they said it was the best.

I'm looking for schematic for the Branson 2200
Good evening
I am French from Paris, and working in a hospital I was able to recover a Branson 2200 ultrasonic cleaner.
Unfortunately, it seems out of order, because when I put it in operation, it makes a lot of noise, and I do not see any bubbles forming in the tank filled with water ..
I look at the circuit board, and there seems to be no HS components.
Can anyone provide me with the electronic schema of this ultrasonic cleaner please?
I would like to troubleshoot this machine so that it can be used to clean small mechanical parts
Thank you for your help
Best regards

I have a 1200 Branson Ultrasonic cleaner with some issues and I was wondering if you could send me some of the schematics that you have for the Branson ultrasonics? Not sure if you have the schematic for this one but even one close to the same model would help some.
Thanks,
Jim
